Pulse Test Unit
24 Hour DeliveryDelivery available from STOCK

A great device to have in your arsenal of tools for quick and easy pulse testing on a range of products and devices.

The Pulse Test Unit (PTU) was introduced as a product that not only tested pulse units and pulse cables to ensure they are working correctly, it also generates pulses to test the devices receiving pulses, i.e. data loggers etc. This means all tests can be carried out in the one site visit to determine which parts are faulty, therefore saving on time and more importantly cost.

Key features and benefits

  • LCD display:
Displays both flow rate in m3/hr and litres/sec. and flow volumes m3 and litres. This can be useful, especially when checking mechanical meters to insure the pulse output matches the volume shown on the meter dial, it will also confirm the actual flow rate being generated by the meter.
  • Tot Flow button:
Pressing this button alternates the display between flow rate and flow volume so you can select the data you want to view.
  • Pulse Sig button:
Pressing this button allows you to select a pulse rate to match the pulse output from the meter.
  • On/Off button:
    Switches PTU on and off.
  • Connectors:
The PTU is supplied with a Technolog 3 pin female mil-spec connector and a Halma 4 pin female mil-spec connector as standard, you can connect your pulse unit or pulse cable to these connectors for testing. Pulse units terminated with connectors for other manufacturers data loggers can also be tested using spring loaded connectors at the top of the PTU, see details below.
  • Terminal Connectors - Right:
The spring loaded terminals to the right as you look at the PTU also count pulses, these can be used to test pulse units and pulse cables terminated with connectors for other manufacturers data loggers as mentioned above. We can supply the pulse cables terminated with a mating connector for these data loggers if required.
  • Terminal Connectors - Left:
The spring loaded terminals to the left as you look at the PTU generate a pulse output at a rate of 1 pulse per second (this pulse output rate can be changed if required). By connecting to these terminals, you can test the equipment receiving the pulses, i.e. data loggers etc. to ensure they are working correctly. We can supply the cables to connect to the receiving equipment if required.
